HuntEx Cape 2012 Debrief

GICS would like to thank everyone who made the effort to visit the HuntEx Cape 2012 Show from 21 - 24 September 2012.

The weather was not ideal for 2 and a half of the 4 days, but many braved the weather and we had a great show.

   

Gunny even popped in to say hi! (Well almost.)

The airsoft shooting range was a great attraction and many people got to see and shoot airsoft devices for the first time.

   

We met and made a lot of new friends and contacts and we look forward to being of service in future.

   
   
   

   

We once again sponsored Peltor Eye and Ear Protection for those who participated in the Gong Shooting Competition where a Howa rifle was won each day.

   

A very big thank you goes out to the HuntEx Organisers who once again provided a wonderful platform for us and all the other exhibitors to display their product ranges to the public. (The weather being one of the few things that they were not able to arrange!)

New Airsoft Shipment has Arrived!

We are pleased to announce we have finally received our latest airsoft shipment after several delays.

We will be open on Friday 21 September 2012, but will be closed on Saturday 22 September 2012 as we will all be at the HuntEx Cape Show, so please visit us there!

We will re-open for business as usual at 09:00 on Tuesday 25 September 2012. (As Monday is a public Holiday and we will be at the HuntEx Cape Show.)

Book now for CT Intermed and Low Light Firearms Courses in Oct

GICS is pleased to announce that we will be offering both, an Intermediate Firearms Course as well as a Low Light Firearms Course - Live Fire in the Western Cape on Saturday 27 October 2012.

Intermediate Firearms Course - 27 October 2012 (08:00 - 12:00)




Low Light Firearms Course - 27 October 2012 (14:30 - approx. 22:00)



There will be a break for a short braai, so please feel free to bring your own meat and join us for a braai while it gets dark before the night portion of the course begins.

Both courses will be facilitated by Dean Nieuwoudt. Dean has served in the SADF, SAP and Durban Metro Police, both as an instructor and on an operational level including drug enforcement, special projects, intervention unit, CPO, child protection and other duties. 

Dean has a long list of local and international experience and qualifications behind his name, including but not limited to: Registered Assessor and Moderator, Metro Police Instructor, SAPS Weapons (SWAT) Instructor, Crowd Management Instructor, ASP Baton and Handcuffing Instructor, First Aid Instructor, Basic and Intermediate Life Support Medic, Glock Armourer and Close Protection Officer. Dean is also an active 3 gun shotist and has a particular passion for edged and impact weapons.

Besides being highly qualified, Dean has a true passion for training. You only need to spend a few minutes in his presence talking about training to realise this and it is for this reason that we have decided to synergise with Dean to offer not only relevant but practical training.

Vetus Schola ASP Baton and Handcuffing Training at GICS

Vetus Schola Protection Services South Africa personnel underwent Certified ASP Baton and Tactical Handcuffing and Restraint training at GI Combat Supplies in Cape Town on 27 and 28 Auguest 2012.

  

The ASP Baton ABC Course teaches learners the operational use of the ASP Tactical Baton. The Tactical/Collapsible Baton is a great less lethal tool that can be used for defensive, offensive and compliance purposes if required to do so.

The ASP Handcuffing Course teaches learners correct and effective handcuffing and restraint techniques.

 
 

Both of these courses are ASP USA accredited and ASP Certificates are issued to all learner's who are deemed competant at the end of the course.

GICS Defensive Training August Courses Debrief

We would like to thank everyone who attended the various training courses held at GICS in Cape Town from 25/08/2012 until 30/08/2012.

 

Courses offered included:

Introduction to Edged Weapons
Combat Stick Combat Baton

 

Courses were attended by members of the public, the security industry as well as various government agencies.

We hope that you and/or your representatives enjoyed and benefitted from the course(s).

Certificates will be issued and made available in due course. You will be contacted when they are ready. (ASP Certificates take a few weeks to be issued from the US.)

 

We would appreciate honest feedback regarding the courses. (Both positive and negative.) Your feedback is vital in order for us to improve future courses and for us to plan follow up courses.
