FBGC Open Day 08/12/2012 Debrief

False Bay Gun Club (FBGC) hosted an open day on 08/12/2012 where members of the public were able to come along and fire various types of firearms.

    

GICS was priveleged to be able to set up a display and run an airsoft shooting range on Range 2 during the day.

The day was a great success with a great turn out and the weather being perfect.

GICS Militaria Display and Airsoft Pistol Shoot Debrief

We would like to thank everyone who attended our Airsoft pistol shoot and militaria display on Saturday 15/12/2012.

Latest Airsoft Shipment and Family Day!

We have good news and we have bad news regarding our latest Airsoft shipment.

The bad news is that, as many people know, our latest airsoft shipment has been horribly delayed. We apologise for the delay and assure you that we have and continue to do everything we can to get it here as quickly as possible.

A letter of explanation from the airline is available on request for anyone who requires it. 

We have been guaranteed that the shipment will be delivered to us by tomorrow afternoon, Friday 14/12/2012, at the very latest.

Hermanus SAPS Dog Unit Initiative Update

For those who are not aware of the Hermanus SAPS Dog Unit Iniative that was initated by members of theGunsite.co.za Forum, click here for more information on the initiative.

We would like to start by thanking all those people who contributed positively to the initiative. The response exceeded our expectations and we thank every one of you.

We are very pleased to announce that after reconciling our records with those sent to helpthehermanusdoggies@gmail.com, we received R17 410.00 in total.

As we all prefer to work with round numbers, GICS has decided to make it a round R20 000.00 and have contributed the balance to the account accordingly.

We will be informing the unit members thereof and will make the necessary arrangements for them to do the shopping they require. We will try to get some photos and some feedback from them in this regard.

GICS at the SA Army Infantry School

GI Combat Supplies was privileged to be invited to visit and demonstrate various products to various members of the SA Army at the SA Army Infantry School in Oudtshoorn on 21 and 22 November 2012.

  
    
We met with various personnel with varying roles and it was very interesting to note different viewpoints from different operational perspectives. We certainly learnt a lot.

  
    
A special thank you goes out to SA Army Infantry Formation, Director Force Preparation  Brigadier General M. De Goede and his staff, Col. S.B. Nombewu, OC of the Infantry School and especially the members of the Doctrine Wing who welcomed us and made us feel, not only welcome, but part of the process. We now have a far better understanding of what an important role philosophy, strategy and doctrine play in our armed forces and we can only hope that we can contribute positively to the project into the future.

GICS at the SA Army IDC/IRAD Commitee Conference

GI Combat Supplies had the honour and privilege to be invited to and participate in the SA Army, Infantry Doctrine Committee (IDC) meeting that took place at Fort Ikapa in Cape Town last week.

   
We presented various new products and ideas to select members of the Infantry Research and Development (IRAD) Council and related projects including Project WARRIOR, CSIR-DPSS, MRS and CJ OPS at a mini expo on Wednesday 7th November 2012.

There is no substitute for being able to physically touch, feel and handle gear and equipment and we hope that we were able to provide positive ideas and concepts moving forward.

 
We were priveleged to also be invited to attend the closing function on Thursday evening where the week long event was closed off with speeches and a good old South African dinner.

GICS would like to thank the SA Army Infantry Formation, Chief Director Force Preperation, Brigadier General M. De Goede and his staff for the invitation and royal treatment that we received this week as well as the open way in which new ideas, concepts and suggestions were viewed and discussed.

GICS Intermed and Low Light Firearms Course Debrief

The GICS Intermediate and Low Light Firearms Courses - Live Fire that took place on 27/10/2012 was a great success.
